NEW DT Reveal!!

We want to welcome our NEW Design Team and
reacquaint  you with the girls that are returning...

So here are the incredible girls that will be inspiring you from April thru September

Andreja

I am Andreja and I come from a small and beautiful country Slovenia, Europe. I am married 12 years, but unfortunately we do not have children. We both have some hobbies, so creating is for me a great consolation. I am a creative person since I remember.
I make mostly greeting cards and other paper creations, but I am doing other things too when I have time I like mixed media technique, I make jewelry, I knit and sew.
I am very happy to be part of this great team and I look forward to creating with you :-))

I was new to online scrapbooking since April 2009. There were so many amazing sites that were my learning curve to this amazing world of scrapbooking. My name is Bev Code and I have been scrapping about 5+ years. I am a wife, mother and gramma that loves being retired and now have time to scrap to my hearts content. I love scrapbooking along wit fun crafts I love also are needlepoint, sewing, knitting, crochet and taking lots of photos. Family and friends are the subjects of my scrapbooking along with nature, ancestry and vacation sites. I live in Conestogo Ontario and spend time in Florida where I take my scrapping with me for the extended time. I am super excited to be joining Feeling Sketchy and can't wait to get to know you all better.

Born of Dutch immigrant parents, raised and still living in Durban, South Africa, I am a SAH wife to my log-suffering husband, Pete, and mum to Nicholas (25), Blayne (22), and Kellan (20), and human to 4 kitties Simba, Bunny, Pudge and Penny. My mum taught me the skills she learnt as a young girl, that of using my hands to create pretty things, and always to make the best of whatever supplies I have. I cannot remember a time when I wasn't sewing, crocheting, drawing, colouring, painting, etc.
I love to design, sew and bead belly dance costumes, and have lost count of the number of beaded bras that are shimmying worldwide.
Papercrafting and cardmaking are a passion, and I present monthly workshops to an ever increasing group of ladies between the ages of 9 and 92 (literally!) Last week's workshop was attended by 36 ladies making 6 cards each! In addition, I am often invited to present workshops by craft stores, groups, WI's and ladies groups.
I need to pay the bills too, so I am an agent for an importer of crafting goodies and an artist of digistamps.
You can visit my blog: jencraftsa.blogspot.com where there is also a page for my bellydancing costume creations too (check the right hand side bar for the link).
Love
Jen Leeflang

Though relatively new to the world of art journaling, I have been scrapbooking and cardmaking for more than 15 years.  I have served on Design Teams at Let’s Scrap and Stampotique Originals, and currently serve on the Design Team at “Quote the Raven, Nevermore.”  My work has been published most recently in Just Steampunk Magazine, as well as in several online publications.  While all this looks good on paper, my artistic spirit is sparked when I am creating cards for my friends and family.  I get to make something tailored to each person.  Today, I am thrilled to become part of the Feeling Sketchy family of artists, and can’t wait to begin to share my creative enthusiasm with our site followers through my blog posts.
I am retired and live with my husband Russ and rescued dog Jake in Boston, Massachusetts

Hello All!! Let me introduce myself. My name is Leslie, I have a wonderful husband of 28 years, 2 awesome girls and 5 beautiful grandbabies. My actual job is a tax analyst but my passion is, of course, scrapbooking and preserving as many memories as I can. I do not have a specific style as I love to try new things and techniques so my style is always changing as I push myself.
I would like to say that I am very excited about this opportunity to join an amazing team and sharing my work with you.

My name is Lisa Moen. I have been scrapping over 17 years. My husband, Greg and I have 2 teenagers - Sierra 17 and Austin 15 1/2. We live in Central Wisconsin. We have a rambunctious yellow lab named Bender. These 4 are the subjects of most of my layouts. I work outside the home at at the kids school. I really enjoy my summers off!
Besides scrapping I enjoy camping, watching the kids school activities and gardening. I am excited to be joining this wonderful team and gaining new friendships.

Hello! My name is Lori and I live in a very small SW Missouri town with my husband, Scott, and our 2 sons, Matthew and Shane. We also have a daughter, Abby, who is married to her high school sweetheart and they have a one year old baby girl named Ada that I get the pleasure of babysitting through the week.
I started scrapbooking about 16 years ago and fell in love with it and card making soon followed. Nothing relaxes me more than spending time in my scrap room creating.

Hello I'm Michelle Looi, from sunny Singapore. I'm a mom of two boys (5 and 7) who loves to eat, barely can cook and am better at crafting and loves playing with ink, paper, mists and such. I have been crafting since May 2011. As DT member I hope to inspire other scrapbookers as much as they inspire me to try new things and techniques. You'd also see some washi tapes being used on my creations every now and then. I am on the DT at Let's Scrap Sketches and Use Your Stuff. And I'm totally thrilled to be on Feeling Sketchy DT now! I was Guest Designer at Artist Celler, CSI, Scrap the Boys and I have been published on Ezines - Life. Paper. Scrapbook, ScrapN'Art and Scrap Street.

AND our returning fabulous Design Team Members:

Hi my name is Astrid and I live in the Netherlands ! I am married and have a  7 year old son and two stepkids who are 13 and 15 years old.

I always have been creative since I was a little girl and always love to try new things.  I love making photo’s and  make scrapbook albums of our family to preserve all our precious memories.
I am thrilled being part of this team and I’m sure it will bring a new dimension to my creativity !

Hey Everyone! My name is Elina Pereira. I'm ecstatic to be working alongside these talented ladies. And glad to be given this opportunity to do what I love.

Here is a little about me:

I have been married to my wonderful hubby for the past 15 years and we have 2 beautiful daughters, ages 14 and 5.

I'm currently living in Louisiana but I'm a native of Philadelphia, PA.

You could say I'm just a city girl living out in the country.

Crafting has always been a part of my life in some way, shape or form.

My love for all things crafty began when I was younger. I remember sitting in my living room at age 7 with pencil in hand and determined to draw Donald Duck, my favorite Disney character. I was able to draw him and many others. and from then on, my love of things artsy and crafty blossomed.

It wasn't until I had my first daughter that I was introduced to the world of scrapbooking.

That love for scrapbooking turned into a passion for crafting and cardmaking which I absolutely love.

Crafting I feel is an extension of who I am and it feels good to be able to express myself through my projects.

It helps that I have the love and support from my family to keep me inspired.
This is the first Design Team for me and I hope I can make these ladies proud!

I’m Louise from Perth, Western Australia.  I am an Optometrist on “Indefinite Maternity Leave”, Mum to two little boys aged 7 and 3 and Wife to a FIFO husband who is currently working on Barrow Island.  Life is very full but I spend my “Me-Time” scrapbooking and cardmaking but I do dabble in sewing and crochet as well.  Like so many others, I was introduced to scrapbooking soon after my first child was born, quickly fell in love with it and then decided to stretch myself by participating in challenges and joining Design Teams.  This year I will be teaching classes at my LSS and I have some exciting things planned for that.  Stamping and cardmaking followed after scrapbooking when I realised I could use leftovers from  layouts to make cards to have ready when I need them.  I love using mood boards and sketches for inspiration and I spend way too much time on Pinterest, but often I can be inspired to create by a billboard, a shop display or an item of clothing.  I am excited to be joining the Feeling Sketchy team and I hope you all enjoy my (mostly) clean and simple style.

I will be 70 in April and live in Sydney with my husband Tony.  I have two daughters and four granddaughters.  I was made redundant at work at the end of January 2013 so after working for 53 years I am now retired.
I started stamping and making cards in 1995 and started scrapbooking about 1999 and making ATCs in 2005.  I am still a cute stamper. I started my blog in April 2012 with the help of cyber friends and started joining challenges.  I was really happy to find Feeling Sketchy to give me new ideas for my cards and then excited to be invited to join the design team and make my first card for the design team at sketch number 41 on 7 January, 2013.  I have lots of rubber and clear stamps but use mostly digital stamps now as they are easier on my sore hands.
I am group Mum on some yahoo stamping groups and I run a craft group by mail.
I suffer from fibromyalgia and arthritis and have eye problems so spend my days making cards, a little scrapbooking and talking to my cyber friends on the internet.  This helps take my mind off the pain.
I have made many more cyber friends since starting my blog.
My eldest Granddaughter called me Granmargaret when she was little as my mother was living with us then and Angela called her Grandma and Sarah heard Mum calling me Margaret.  Now all my grand daughters and their friends call me Granmargaret.
Lynda and I are cancer survivors and we thank God for every day and for all our friends who pray for us.
I enjoy being part of the Feeling Sketchy design team and hope to continue being part of this group of lovely ladies.

A bit about myself.   I have been married for 23 years to a wonderful husband, and currently live in sunny South Africa. I am a nurse by profession but gave that up to be a stay at home mom. I love every minute of being at home.

We have two very busy teenage boys in our home. Dylan and Jason. Both are very active boys. As parents we love to support them and they both bring us so much joy I love every minute of being on the side of the sports field taking photos.

When I am not busy with them I love to scrap these memories and hope that over and above the current joy I get from my projects, I will also leave behind some wonderful memories of our family for the boys and their future families.

I'm a French mom of 2 daughters who lives in Aberdeen, U.K., since few month now. I started scrapbooking with my first newborn but also because I discovered it within my first expatriation in Houston, Texas. My inspiration came mostly from the people I love and care about, and sometimes I create only for the fun to play with a new toy. I like to scrapbook, make cards and altered projects and I'm teaching scrapbooking to adults in a non-profit organization. I almost create everyday. I'm very excited to be part of the Feeling sketchy challenge blog and share with you my ideas for the sketches.

You will be able to see all of the profiles of these wonderful girls on April 1st with all the pics and bio's in the tab on the mail page 'Our Design Team'

We look forward to sharing all of the incredible inspirations that these super talented girls will have for you all...

Hugs,
Cathy and Val

Inspirational post : stamp on acrylic without fear

Hello everyone !

It's Valerie here ! Today is the day I'm supposed to show you an inspirational post for the Feeling Sketchy blog, so I decided to show you some trick I use when I work with acrylic sheet or album.

Have you ever been afraid of using ink on it ? What if the stamped image is not crisp enough ? Be afraid no more ! Ink will simply go off with a baby wipe.
However, I recommend to use Stazon opaque ink to stamp a prefect image on acrylic, and this ink will need a little bit more to be wiped away.

So stamp your image on the acrylic material,

Apply the all-purpose stamp cleaner (the one you use to clean your rubber or acrylic stamps) on the stamped image.

Wiped it !
And stamp again ! Easy peasy ! Or you could just wipe away a portion of the stamp for a different effect.
Just don't be afraid to use ink on acrylic, it's so much fun ! Why not trying it for our current challenge ?

Have fun and see you soon...

INTERNATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY - Month Long 'Special' Challenge!!!

Hey everyone!!!

Are you ready to celebrate InterNational Scrapbooking Day??

It is really a day!! It is supposed to be celebrated on March 4th... not to be confused with
National Scrapbooking Day in May.... this is InterNational Scrapbooking Day... sooo why not
another holiday celebrating something we all love to do!!! ;0)

So this is how it is going to work.... It will be a month long challenge, BUT the twist is it is going to run on TWO sites and you have to play along with BOTH sites to be entered to win a prize (be sure to inlinkz the correct layout/card to the correct blog)... There is a card sketch posted here on Feeling Sketchy (you don't have to do it up as a card, do a layout if you want!!) and then there is a double page sketch on Let's Scrap Sketches... (you can do it as a single or double page or even a card if you want!!). Everyone, including our Design Teams, are eligible to play along with these challenges.... SO we hope to see alot of people playing along with both sketches... ;0)

So here is a bit about our sponsor here at Feeling Sketchy:

A bit about them:

My name is Adele. I graduated in 2013 with a degree in Interior Design and I am currently a carer for my Grandma but in my spare time I love designing digital stamps. They are mostly inspired by 1940/50's  Pin-Ups and can be quite sassy. My favorite Pin Up artist is Gil Elvgren, whose work is stunning. I have been both a crafter and an artist alternately all my life but finally feel I have been able to achieve a great balance as a digital stamp designer. Jiggery Makery is my brand, my creative expression and a way to share what I love.

Prize is:

THREE digi images of your choice!!!

So now on to the sketch you get to play with designed by Michelle.
Remember you can use this to make a single page layout too... or a card!!

We can't wait to see what you all come up with for both blogs sketches...
So don't forget to play along with Let's Scrap Sketches and make you post the correct creation to the correct blog on the inlinkz button!!!
