"Best Friends"
I decided to do a little paper piecing on this one because it suits the image so well and don't those dresses look adorable. So for those of you who haven't tried paper piecing before here are a few instructions.
- Decide how many different patterned papers you would like to use in your image. I have use three in mine, one each for the dresses and one for the hats.
- Cut your card stock/paper to size, I always find 'Index card' size is good, roughly 10.5cm x 15cm and don't forget to include your plain base image that you will colour and adhere to. I have used Copic Express in this circumstance because I coloured the image with my ProMarkers.
- Print or stamp (depending on whether you are using digi images or a stamped image) on each of your paper pieces.
- Colour your base image and cut this to the required size. All you papttered pieces will be adhered to this.
- Fussy cut all the separate pieces as required. I cut the bows out in opposite papers for a bit more 3D effect.
- Colour any areas you wish to on your pieces, for example I have coloured the flowers on the hat and the line on the hem of the dress. You could also use your copics or ProMarkers to add depth to the pleats.
- Stick all your pieces down and your done. I think it always looks best if you then tie those papers in with your layout but that's just me!
