Design Team

Hi, my name is Cathy van de Bruinhorst. I am a small town girl, Yuba City - California, raised in a farming community. I met My Adorable One, Marcel, online in 1998 and imported him from Rotterdam Holland. Those importing fees were something else but the end result is fabulous!!! We have been married going on 17 years... we have 2 boys, Raym (28) and Taylor (Bugs 21)... Raym has a little boy, Preston... aka Yummy.. he is our world. Granma and Daddo love to spend as much time with him as possible. I run a small home daycare and Yummy comes to see me a few times a week and as much on the weekends as possible. We do take alot of pic of our family (mostly Yummy), motorcycle rides with our Gunslinger MC (law enforcement group) and our own rides as well as get together's with friends and family.
I love scrapbooking... everything about it.. the smell of the papers, the crunch of new albums, all the new goodies that come out every single year that I 'have to have'.. I just love it!! I do layouts, cards, mini albums, altered art... anything at all... I just love playing with papers!! I am incredibly lucky to have an 'enabler'... my guy is a serious enabler and I love him for it!! He makes sure I have new goodies on a regular basis.. more than I need for sure! We share a hobby room.. which in one way is awesome... we are close to each other and jabber while we are busy with our hobbies but it pretty much stinks in another way... when he is at work I am always looking at his side of the room and thinking of all the goodies I could put over there!! lol Shhhhh.. don't tell him!!!
I joined Feeling Sketchy a little over two years ago now... got on their DT because I wanted to get better at making cards... I am so focused sometimes on my layouts that I don't make alot of cards so this forced me too play with them... due to other blog owners leaving to do family issues and health issues, my partner in crime, Val and I are now co-owners of this blog. It is a true labor of love... alot of hours go into the running, organizing and maintaining of this blog so we hope you enjoy it and continue to play along with us. I have met some amazing friends from all over the world thru this blog and it would be lovely to actually meet some of them in person! *sigh* someday hopefully! We have a super talented group of girls here, a great sketch designer, Michelle van Wyk and of course the Admin here is just incredible!! ;)

I am Andreja and I come from a small and beautiful country Slovenia, Europe. I am married since 2012, but unfortunately we do not have children. We both have some hobbies, so creating is for me a great consolation. I am a creative person since I remember.
I make mostly greeting cards and other paper creations, but I am doing other things too when I have time I like mixed media technique, I make jewelry, I knit and sew.
I am very happy to be part of this great team and I look forward to creating with you :-))

Hanne
I'm 51 years old, married and I have three grown up step children. I have a full time job. I've been scrapping for about 11 years now and mostly make layouts. Early I found out that stamps were great to use on my pages and with the stamps at home I started to make cards too. I make cards in alot of different styles and like to try new techniques. When I color motives I usually use Prisma color pencils. I like mixed media and use that on my cards too. I also make altered projects.

I will be 70 in April and live in Sydney with my husband Tony.  I have two daughters and four granddaughters.  I was made redundant at work at the end of January 2013 so after working for 53 years I am now retired.
I started stamping and making cards in 1995 and started scrapbooking about 1999 and making ATCs in 2005.  I am still a cute stamper. I started my blog in April 2012 with the help of cyber friends and started joining challenges.  I was really happy to find Feeling Sketchy to give me new ideas for my cards and then excited to be invited to join the design team and make my first card for the design team at sketch number 41 on 7 January, 2013.  I have lots of rubber and clear stamps but use mostly digital stamps now as they are easier on my sore hands.
I am group Mum on some yahoo stamping groups and I run a craft group by mail.
I suffer from fibromyalgia and arthritis and have eye problems so spend my days making cards, a little scrapbooking and talking to my cyber friends on the internet.  This helps take my mind off the pain.
I have made many more cyber friends since starting my blog.
My eldest Granddaughter called me Granmargaret when she was little as my mother was living with us then and Angela called her Grandma and Sarah heard Mum calling me Margaret.  Now all my grand daughters and their friends call me Granmargaret.
Lynda and I are cancer survivors and we thank God for every day and for all our friends who pray for us.
I enjoy being part of the Feeling Sketchy design team and hope to continue being part of this group of lovely ladies.

Hi! My name is Maja and I’m from Slovenia, a small country in central Europe. I’m a single mum to 9 years old son and I love spending time with him. We both love long walks, playing volleyball and traveling. I’m a Slovene and Italian language teacher, but whenever I can I go to my crafting room and start crafting.
I'm a creative person since I remember. Before I went to school I loved drawing but even more cutting my drawings with scissors. So, is not strange that my favorite tool is my Big Shot machine. I love making my own embellishments, recycling all kinds of materials and inventing new techniques. My favorite style is CAS.
The most precious crafting moments are when I craft with my son. He's inspiring me very often.
I’m glad to share my work with you.

Hi. I am Tina and I live in Slovenia. I'm 38 years old and I have been married to my high school sweetheart. We have three kids (one daughter and two sons).
I started cardmaking in 2010 when my husband bought me my green Cuttlebug which became my obsession. In April 2015 I created my blog to share my passion for cardmaking.
Both decisions, to start cardmaking and to start blogging,  are among the best in my life, it is so inspiring and it makes me very happy every day. I love to create according to the sketches, which are my starting point for inspiration, otherwise I do not have a dominant creative style, I just love playing with papers, dies and stamps, trying different styles and techniques.
You can find more on my blog (http://www.treebug.org/). The name incorporates my passion for protecting the environment (»tree«) and card making (»bug« is short for my green Cuttlebug).
Thank you so much to my crafty friend Andreja who invited me to this team. I am looking forward to the new challenges!

Bev
I was new to online scrapbooking since April 2009. There were so many amazing sites that were my learning curve to this amazing world of scrapbooking. My name is Bev Code and I have been scrapping about 5+ years. I am a wife, mother and gramma that loves being retired and now have time to scrap to my hearts content. I love scrapbooking along wit fun crafts I love also are needlepoint, sewing, knitting, crochet and taking lots of photos. Family and friends are the subjects of my scrapbooking along with nature, ancestry and vacation sites. I live in Conestogo Ontario and spend time in Florida where I take my scrapping with me for the extended time. I am super excited to be joining Feeling Sketchy and can't wait to get to know you all better.

I'm Helen, a 40-something, married mum of 2, hailing from the south coast of the UK. By day, I'm a Duty First Aider in my local High School on the south coast of the UK. However, when school's out I turn into an avid crafter - I find it a great escape from my very hectic job.
My earliest crafting memories are of my Nan teaching me to knit so I could make clothes for my Barbie dolls. Since those early days, I have dabbled in many, many crafts, even becoming a bit proficient in some, and then I discovered cardmaking 4½ years ago and got completely hooked. The other crafts, as they say, are history ......! I have been lucky enough to be on a few design teams in this time (including working with some digital stamp artists) and I'm delighted to have been invited to join the girls here at Feeling Sketchy. I'm looking forward to inspiring you with my "takes" on Michelle's sketches!

Hi, my name is Val Thorpe and I live in Johannesburg in sunny South Africa, it has been my home for 35 years now and I love it here.
I am married to Simon who is very long suffering and a keeper, I have two kids a son Clint 31 who is married and has twins who are featured a lot on my layouts and a daughter Storm 28 who is about to get married. So my life is full and very chaotic at the moment with wedding plans and looking after the twins two days a week.
I also have 4 very naughty and very cute yorkies (who I also scrap a lot) Pixi - 10, Butch - 5, Holly - 5 and Karma is 2. I also have a very beautiful cat called Hansa.
I am lucky enough to have an amazing scrap room and because I don't work I scrap almost 24/7, 365 days a year. How cool is that?? I know!
I have been scrapping since 2004 when I joined a class on Thursdays. We became knows as the Thursday Therapy group and we are still together. There are five of us, Myself, Cher, Des, Ilse and our latest acquistion is a Dutchie called Charlotte. I am the luckies girl around.
I would say my style is clean and simple and l love white space. I am equally at home with mixed media and project life. I like to make cards and have just started art journaling.

Hi my name is Ada Nicholls and I live in beautiful South Africa. I am married to Bruce and have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. I am happy to say my hobby has become my job. (I hope that makes sense). My children cannot believe that I call it 'working'.
I am a freelance scrapbook teacher and have been for the last 12 years or so. I teach regularly at weekend getaways.
I am also very proud to tell you my work has been published in our local Scrapbooking magazines.
Creating layouts around my photos is just what I love doing.
Busy layouts are for me and I love adding lots of embellishments. Never to take away the emphasis of the reason for scrapbooking - my photographs!!!!
I LOVE chipboard on my layouts as it gives it a bit of dimension.
I have just recently ventured into the world of mixed media and wow what an amazing hobby. Messy but lovely.
I am very excited to be on the Feeling Sketchy Design Team and can't wait to create around the lovely sketches and challenges they have for us.

Hi, my name is Astrid. I am married and have an 8 year old son and two stepkids and I live in the Netherlands. I was introduced to scrapping in 2004 but then my son was born in 2006 I became more and more interested. I like simple layouts, I do not use many embellies and I almost never use flowers, instead of that I use paint, ink, stencils, stamps and washi tape. I always loved old photo's from my parents and grandparents and I am glad I have lot's of photo's from my childhood, the things I missed on all the old photo's was where they were taken or who we're on the photo so that's what I always do on my pages. I want to keep my memories alive for my son, so when he is older and I can't tell him anymore he always will have my scrapbooks that tells our story.
I am so honored  to be on the team and would love to meet the other member around the world.. Thanks!

Hey Everyone! My name is Elina Pereira. I'm ecstatic to be working alongside these talented ladies. And glad to be given this opportunity to do what I love.
Here is a little about me:
I have been married to my wonderful hubby for the past 15 years and we have 2 beautiful daughters, ages 14 and 5.
I'm currently living in Louisiana but I'm a native of Philadelphia, PA.
You could say I'm just a city girl living out in the country.
Crafting has always been a part of my life in some way, shape or form.
My love for all things crafty began when I was younger. I remember sitting in my living room at age 7 with pencil in hand and determined to draw Donald Duck, my favorite Disney character. I was able to draw him and many others. and from then on, my love of things artsy and crafty blossomed.
It wasn't until I had my first daughter that I was introduced to the world of scrapbooking.
That love for scrapbooking turned into a passion for crafting and cardmaking which I absolutely love.
Crafting I feel is an extension of who I am and it feels good to be able to express myself through my projects.
It helps that I have the love and support from my family to keep me inspired.
This is the first Design Team for me and I hope I can make these ladies proud!

My name is Erica Mouton and I am from Pretoria, South Africa.
I was born in the magic 70's in South Africa and as an only child. I am married to my Soulmate Sean for 21 wonderful years and we have 2 lovely girls whole I adore. We stay in an old house built in the 1950's with a large tree filled garden and share our space with 3 adorable pups: Angus, Jolie and Rocky, 2 spoiled Cockatiels: Kuifie and Tweety Birdy, 2 Budgies: Lime and Turquoise and a Hamster called Hammy and lots of Rabbits.
I love spending time with my lovely family. I have many interests, love to travel, have a very soft spot for animals and am passionate about flowers. Some of my other favorite things are Crochet, Art Journaling, Playing Chef, Sugar Art, Cupcakes, Gardening, Reading Books and Stories, especially Afrikaans Literature and Good Movies.
I absolutely LOVE taking photos, it comes from my heart. I love to scrapbook these photos and started Scrapbooking in 2004. As a young girl I collected pretty writing paper and still have my stash! I have been crafting with my Mom since I was little, started Scrapbooking in 2004 and have been extremely excited about it ever since!
My favorite projects to create are double or single layouts, cards and mixed media art works. I also enjoy making mini-albums, especially acrylic albums.
I am always up for a challenge and happy and ready to try new techniques and ideas and enjoy interesting inspriation from all around. I love using flowers, inks, paint, glitter, different textures, beautiful papers and interesting embellishements on my projects and my favourite subjects to scrap are my 2 beautiful Daughters, my Husband and our Travels and interesting every day events.

Born of Dutch immigrant parents, raised and still living in Durban, South Africa, I am a SAH wife to my log-suffering husband, Pete, and mum to Nicholas (25), Blayne (22), and Kellan (20), and human to 4 kitties Simba, Bunny, Pudge and Penny. My mum taught me the skills she learnt as a young girl, that of using my hands to create pretty things, and always to make the best of whatever supplies I have. I cannot remember a time when I wasn't sewing, crocheting, drawing, colouring, painting, etc.
I love to design, sew and bead belly dance costumes, and have lost count of the number of beaded bras that are shimmying worldwide.
Papercrafting and cardmaking are a passion, and I present monthly workshops to an ever increasing group of ladies between the ages of 9 and 92 (literally!) Last week's workshop was attended by 36 ladies making 6 cards each! In addition, I am often invited to present workshops by craft stores, groups, WI's and ladies groups.
I need to pay the bills too, so I am an agent for an importer of crafting goodies and an artist of digistamps.
You can visit my blog: jencraftsa.blogspot.com where there is also a page for my bellydancing costume creations too (check the right hand side bar for the link).
Love
Jen Leeflang

Hello All!! Let me introduce myself. My name is Leslie, I have a wonderful husband of 28 years, 2 awesome girls and 5 beautiful grandbabies. My actual job is a tax analyst but my passion is, of course, scrapbooking and preserving as many memories as I can. I do not have a specific style as I love to try new things and techniques so my style is always changing as I push myself.
I would like to say that I am very excited about this opportunity to join an amazing team and sharing my work with you.

I've always loved doing something creative - it's something I inherited from my late grandfather. The two of us would always be doing something together - calligraphy, water colours, pencil sketching.
I have dabbled in MANY artistic and creative forms, but I'm pleased to say that I finally found my niche; my therapy - SCRAPBOOKING! It ties together my love of story telling, getting messy with paper and photography.
I was introduced to scrapping by a good friend in 2007/8 and have not looked back.
I am a Stay At Home mom to our gorgeous adopted daughter Isabella. Sadly, I lost my husband, soul mate and best friend on 25 November 2014.
My scrapping will now take a turn towards creating albums and canvases not only to celebrate the legacy of Travers, but also in creating story books for Isabella to pore over in the years to come - I will NOT let her forget what an awesome daddy she has!
I have also had one piece published in a local scrapping magazine, which made me extremely proud. Travers always knew that I could do it - he had more faith in my abilities than I did myself!
I am really looking forward to working with all these beautiful talented ladies on this team - and my wish is that in some way, I can inspire at least one person.
Love, hugs 'n light

Hello! My name is Lori and I live in a very small SW Missouri town with my husband, Scott, and our 2 sons, Matthew and Shane. We also have a daughter, Abby, who is married to her high school sweetheart and they have a one year old baby girl named Ada that I get the pleasure of babysitting through the week.
I started scrapbooking about 16 years ago and fell in love with it and card making soon followed. Nothing relaxes me more than spending time in my scrap room creating.

My name is Misty Rushlow and I'm so excited to be part of this journey. I live in Nebraska with my husband of 12 yrs and our 2 cats. I have been scrap booking, card making and paper crafting for over 15 yrs. Throughout those years I've worked at a couple of scrapbook stores, taught classes and sat on a variety of different Design Teams. I'm excited to get to know a variety of people and look forward to sharing my projects with everyone and also learning along the way!!!

My name is Roulien Stahnke from sunny South Africa . . . I’m a 40-something- year old wife, mommy and yes, the grandmother of the most adorable grandees!!  We currently live in Saudi Arabia and this is where my scrapbook story began!  Soon what was to be “just-something-to-pass-the-time” became an obsession!!  I never thought of myself as creative, but scrapbooking taught me that creativity comes in many forms!  I love that there are no hard and fast rules, and that one can be true to who YOU are!!  I’m a true 12 x 12 girl and I love doing double pages, off the page projects, mixed media and home decor, especially around Christmas times!  I would describe my style as classic and I love to use techniques such as distressing and sewing!  The main focus of my pages is the ones I love and our life’s and travels!   Through scrapbooking I made many online friends from different countries, and I love challenge blogs.  I would love If you visit my very neglected blog at  http://my-scrappy-story.blogspot.com/

You will be able to see all of the profiles of these wonderful girls on April 1st with all the pics and bio's in the tab on the mail page 'Our Design Team'

We look forward to sharing all of the incredible inspirations that these super talented girls will have for you all...

Hugs,
Cathy
