Inspiration Post:"Altered Foil Tag"!!

Hey Everyone!! It's Elina here with another inspiration post for the Feeling Sketchy blog.
For this post, I decided to use Ranger Foil Tape sheets to create a tag.
I recently purchased a set of these Foil Tape sheets from Michael's and couldn't wait to use them.
I watched a tutorial on YouTube on how to emboss and add color to these sheets using alcohol inks.
So I decided to give it a try.
I was pleased with how easy it was to add color and emboss it.
You could also stamp and paint these sheets as well , so the possibilities are endless.

Here is a list of the supplies I used and a step by step photo representation of the process:

  • Ranger Foil Tape Sheets- 6 x 12"
  • Manila Tag- 2 1/4 x 5 1/4"
  • Adirondack Alcohol Inks- Any color of your choosing (I used Wild Plum and Butterscotch for this tag)
  • Cuttlebug and Embossing Folder
  • Heidi Swapp Chipboard Elements- Butterflies
  • 7 Gypsies Pyramid Studs
  • Stamper's Anonymous, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Ransom Alpha Parts

To start off, I traced the manila tag onto the foil sheet with a stylus and cut it out.
I used a hole punch to punch out the hole on the top.
And then, I moved on to the embossing and coloring.

This is the tag after I embossed and colored it.
I love the deep impression you get with these Foil Sheets and it takes color well.
I dabbed on my alcohol inks and was able to build up the color to make it more vibrant.
Once I had the coloring finished, I used my heat tool to set it, removed the paper backing to expose the adhesive and attached it to the manila tag.

To embellish the tag, I added a few butterflies, the sentiment "Life, Love", some pyramid studs and pearls.

And ta-da tag complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project and got inspired!!
Enjoy your day!! :)

How to make pebbles - Inspiration post by Valerie Andrieux

Hello everybody !

I'm here today to share a little trick for the Feeling Sketchy blog. Here is what you will need :

Yep, just some pieces of paper and glossy accents. Ok joking. You will also need beads, crystals, glitter, laces. Just punch several small circles, adhere what ever you like on it and cover generously with glossy accents, enough to make a big bubble of glue. It does take a lot to dry. You could see the result above. On the left corner, with glitter (added before the glossy for the pink ones, and after for the dark green one), beads on the right, and laces at the bottom) :

I use them as flower centers or as small embellishments on my layout.

I made a video, it's in French but I add english caption for you...

See you for another crafty project soon !

Easter Inspiration

Good morning all. It's Sharyn here and it's my turn to inspire you. I would like to show you how you can use your printer more in your projects. Seeing it is nearly Easter I decided to make that my theme.
I created a card following the current (card) sketch and an Easter Basket.

I made my card using an Easter Egg cutting file purchased from the Silhouette store (#56967) but instead of cutting the image with an electronic cutter I recoloured each Easter egg, arranged them all where I wanted them to print and then printed onto cardstock. The sentiment was also computer generated.

This is the sketch I used from the current challenge.

My Easter Basket is also a file purchased from the store (#39175) and cut on an digital cutter using double sided designer paper from Making Memories. The "Easter" label was printed onto cardstock and then cut out using the "Print & Cut" feature of the Cameo.

Now I know not everyone has an electronic cutting machine but most of what I have shown you today can be replicated using clip art/rubber stamps and a craft knife and of course your printer.

These are the pieces I cut to make the basket.

Hope this helps you with your crafting projects.
