Faux Letterpress Technique!!

Hey Everyone!! It's Elina here with an inspiration post for the Feeling Sketchy blog.
I have a Faux Letterpress project to share with you all.
Letterpress printing is a relief print technique using a printing press, ink and movable type.
It's used in a variety of applications, such as wood engravings and invitations.
I came across this faux technique on YouTube and thought it would be cool to try out and turn it into a card.

Here is a list of the supplies I used and a step by step photo representation of the process:
Supplies Used:
- Cuttlebug
- Stampin Up "Pink Passion" ink pad
- Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Embossing Folder

First, open up the embossing folder and apply the ink, making sure to get good coverage.
The ink must be added to the front of the folder, as seen in the pic below.

Next, add your piece of cardstock on top of the ink and place your folder on the platform with the inked side down.
Then run it through your Cuttlebug.

Quick Note: I found that the Sizzix folders worked best for this technique.
I tried using my Cuttlebug folders at first, but could not get the crisp look I was going for.

Here is what my cardstock piece looked like, once I removed it from the folder.
I love how vibrant the pink looks against the white.
All that was left to do now was to add a card base, sentiment, and a few embellishments.

Here is the pic of my completed card.
I added black cardstock, lace, sequins, and a "Thinking of You" sentiment onto an A2 size white card base.

And voila!! card complete!!

I hope you enjoyed this project for today.
I hope I have inspired you to try this technique out for yourself.
Enjoy the rest of your day and Peace!! :)
